Chiefs secure No. 1 seed and first-round bye with dominant win over Steelers.

Kansas City Chiefs Clinch No. 1 Seed in AFC with Win Over Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day

The Kansas City Chiefs gave their fans a Christmas gift to remember with a 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, securing a first-round bye in the playoffs and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Chiefs got off to a fast start, scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions and taking a 13-0 lead.

The Steelers attempted to respond, but a holding penalty and an interception in the end zone thwarted their efforts. The Steelers did manage to get on the board when quarterback Russell Wilson scrambled for a 1-yard rushing touchdown, but the Chiefs continued to pull away.

In the second half, the teams traded field goals before the Chiefs scored two touchdowns, including a 2-yard rushing score by Kareem Hunt and a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, who set a new franchise record for touchdown receptions. Mahomes completed 29 of 38 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns, while Kelce had eight catches for 84 yards and a touchdown.

The loss for the Steelers is crucial for their AFC North title chances, as they will now have to worry about the Baltimore Ravens, who could take control of the division with a win over the Houston Texans. Wilson threw for 205 yards and an interception, while Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had three catches for 50 yards in his return from a hamstring injury.

The win gives the Chiefs a first-round bye in the playoffs, while their opponent will have to wait and see what happens in Week 17. The Steelers, meanwhile, will host the Cincinnati Bengals in their final regular-season game.
