Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes confirms mild high ankle sprain.

Patrick Mahomes’ Status for Texans Game in Doubt

Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes suffered an injury in the second half of Sunday’s win against the Browns, after being hit multiple times by defenders. The injury is currently uncertain for Saturday’s game against the Texans, but a source has indicated that Mahomes will be “fine long-term.”

If Mahomes is unable to play due to the injury, veteran backup Carson Wentz is expected to start in his place. Wentz finished out the game after Mahomes was injured and is preparing to lead the team if necessary.
