Tavia Hunt, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, has entered the conversation surrounding “referee favoritism” ahead of Super Bowl LIX. In a social media post following the Chiefs’ 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills, Hunt expressed her emotions, stating she is “overwhelmed” by the team’s success.
She wrote that she doesn’t think God cares about football, but He cares deeply about people, and that the team’s success is due to “hard work, belief, and purpose,” not favoritism from referees. She mentioned the team’s struggles a decade ago, including a 2-14 season in 2012, but noted that it ultimately led to the hiring of head coach Andy Reid and the team’s subsequent success.
Hunt also praised individual players, such as quarterback Patrick Mahomes, kicker Harrison Butker, and linebacker Chris Jones, for their humility and prioritization of their faith. The Chiefs are now on the cusp of NFL history, potentially becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowls. They will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, which will be streamed on Tubi.
