Chase Stokes and Sydney Taylor Star in Upcoming Movie Marked Men: Rule + Shaw

Chase Stokes and Sydney Taylor, two actors who have been friends for years, are set to star in the upcoming movie Marked Men: Rule + Shaw. The film is an adaptation of Jay Crownover’s novel series and tells the story of Rule Archer, a rebellious tattoo artist, and Shaw Landon, a pre-med student from a wealthy family. While Shaw has kept her feelings for Rule a secret, she decides to take a chance and reveal them.

The movie also stars a talented ensemble cast, including Alexander Ludwig, Ella Balinska, Natalie Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, and Matthew Noszka. The film balances an upbeat and dramatic tone, providing Stokes and Taylor with unique acting challenges, including portraying the complex relationships and intense moments between the characters.

Stokes and Taylor spoke with ScreenRant ahead of the movie’s release to discuss their experiences. Sydney Taylor, who was new to the book series, started reading the novel during her audition process and continued to reference it throughout filming. “If you’re going to make an adaptation, I think it needs to be adapted… [The book] is what it is, and sometimes you need to evolve it and make it your own,” she said.

Chase Stokes, on the other hand, was not familiar with the book series before filming, but he equally praised the process of adapting the material. Director Nick Cassavetes also played a crucial role in shaping the film, and Stokes and Taylor discussed the importance of building trust with him during the filming of intimate scenes.

The interview also touched on the development of Outer Banks season 5, but that topic is not discussed in great detail. Marked Men: Rule + Shaw is set to be released in January 2025 and promises to be a thrilling adaptation of Jay Crownover’s novel series.
