Radio host Charlamagne tha God and comedian Andrew Schulz debated on their podcast “Brilliant Idiots” how the Democratic Party would react if President Donald Trump proved them wrong by doing “a great job” during his second term. Charlamagne asked what if Trump “does a great job? What if he’s actually a good president, guys?”
The co-hosts floated ideas of things Trump could do to win over critics, such as ending wars in Gaza and Ukraine, enforcing border security, and bringing down inflation. Schulz wondered if Trump achieved these things, if liberals would admit they were wrong about him for the past eight years.
Schulz predicted that if Trump “does a great job and America’s happy” it will bring the Democrats “back to reality.” Charlamagne disagreed, saying “there’s nobody more delusional than the Democratic Party.” Schulz insisted that there would be a “gravitational force” pulling Democrats “back to reality.”
Schulz also predicted that as Trump’s success grows, the Democratic Party will become more normal. He cited an instance when comedian Chris Morrow, an anti-Trump friend of the hosts, called him saying “I’m starting to think Trump is doing a good job.” Schulz believed that the more successful Trump is, the more normal the Democratic Party will become.
In October, Schulz predicted Trump would win the 2024 presidential election “by a landslide” after appearing on his podcast.
