Ohio State Alum Cameron Heyward Loses Bet to Michigan’s Roman Wilson
Ohio State alum Cameron Heyward recently placed a bet on last week’s Ohio State-Michigan game, which his Buckeyes lost 13-10. The upset was not enough to keep the Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoff, but Heyward was likely more concerned about settling his wager. To make good on the bet, Heyward reluctantly wore a Michigan hat to a recent press conference.
Heyward made the bet with his Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Roman Wilson, who played a big role in the Wolverines’ national championship last year. The bet was Heyward’s idea, and he joked that he feels like an idiot for making it. The Buckeyes were three-touchdown favorites going into the game, making Heyward’s loss even more surprising.
The loss was not the only controversy to come out of the game. After the final whistle, Michigan players attempted to plant a UM flag at midfield, which many Buckeyes took exception to. The incident resulted in a brawl between the two teams, and police used pepper spray to settle the situation.
Despite the disappointing loss, the Buckeyes are still fighting for a national championship. Meanwhile, the Wolverines finished the season with a 7-5 record, but capped off their season with a storybook ending.
