Chicago Bulls guard Coby White made headlines on Monday night with an incredible dunk over San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama. With the Bulls clinging to a one-point lead and under 20 seconds remaining, White drove to the basket and leaped to meet Wembanyama, who stands at 7-foot-3 inches. Despite being listed at 6 feet, 5 inches, White emerged victorious, throwing down a dunk that sent the crowd at the United Center into a frenzy.
The dunk was two of the 23 points White scored in 36 minutes of play, along with four assists and four steals. White said he knew he had to go for the dunk to ice the game and get a four-point lead. Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, while Wembanyama led the Spurs with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and eight blocks.
The win improved the Bulls’ record to 17-19, putting them in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. The Spurs fell to 18-18, also sitting in the 10th spot, but in the Western Conference.
