Tampa Bay Buccaneers Safety Jordan Whitehead Placed on Reserve/Non-Football Injury List Following Car Accident

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead has been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list after being involved in a car accident on his way to the team’s practice facility on Saturday morning. According to the team, Whitehead will not play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints due to injuries sustained in the accident.

Whitehead, 27, has started in 12 games for the Buccaneers this season, recording 79 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one quarterback hit. He previously missed four games earlier this season due to a pectoral injury and was designated to return from injured reserve on December 24.

The Buccaneers have signed Ryan Neal from their practice squad to the 53-man roster to fill the void left by Whitehead’s absence. Whitehead was selected by the Buccaneers in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
