Browns HC Kevin Stefanski plans to resume play-calling in 2025.

Cleveland Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski Returns to Play-Calling

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is returning to his role as play-caller, a position he held before being relieved of his duties in 2024. Stefanski, who earned two AP Coach of the Year awards, is looking forward to leading the offensive staff and offense, stating that he is excited to get to work together and produce a good product on the field.

The Browns struggled to sustain drives in 2024, finishing 32nd in points and 28th in yards. The issues were multifaceted, including ineffective quarterback play, a woeful ground game, inconsistent blocking, and missing explosives. Stefanski hopes that returning to play-calling will help balance some of the shortcomings, but the team must also address the quarterback position and get the personnel to match.

Stefanski’s previous experience as play-caller should be beneficial in getting the offense back on track. In the previous four seasons under Stefanski, the Browns had finished in the top 10 in rush attempts every year. In 2024, they ranked 28th, indicating a need for improvement. With Stefanski back at the helm, the Browns are hoping to make significant strides and improve their performance on the field.
