A 61-year-old woman in the United Kingdom is facing accusations of posing as at least 14 people while taking citizenship tests, with the help of wigs and disguises, the UK Home Office revealed.

The woman is believed to have carried out the scheme at multiple test centers across the country between June 2022 and August 2023, using the wigs and false documents seized during her arrest. The fraud allegedly led to people being granted the right to remain in the UK, posing a risk to the public.

Immigration Enforcement officers described the scheme as a “complex” and “pre-meditated” plan to avoid detection. The woman reportedly selected disguises and test center locations across the country to evade authorities.

The UK Home Office citizenship test requires applicants to prove their knowledge of British values, history, and society by answering 24 multiple-choice questions. The test is a requirement for anyone seeking to obtain indefinite leave to remain or to become a British citizen.
