Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty Causes a Stir at Heisman Trophy Ceremony with Unique Outfit Choice
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, a Heisman Trophy hopeful, has been making headlines this season with his impressive performance on the field, but his outfit choice during the 90th annual Heisman Trophy ceremony may have garnered even more attention. Jeanty was the only one among his fellow Heisman finalists to represent his football program with his outfit choice, sporting an orange and blue tracksuit that proudly showcased his school’s colors.
Jeanty’s unique decision was praised by many on social media, and he explained that he would have worn the outfit anyway because he feels that it is important to represent his school. He also pointed to the Heisman Trophy’s literature, which encouraged participants to wear their team’s gear.
Jeanty, who is the first running back Heisman Trophy finalist since 2017, is one of the top two favorites to win alongside Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. Despite his individual accomplishments, Jeanty feels that his place in New York goes beyond personal achievement, stating that he is representing the running back position, which has often been overlooked.
The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced on Saturday night during the ceremony, which will be broadcast on ESPN beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
