Bills’ Josh Allen falls short against Chiefs in tight playoff showdown.

The Buffalo Bills’ Super Bowl hopes came to an end once again at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, falling 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday night. For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Bills have had their playoff run ended by their biggest rivals.

Despite a gutsy effort from quarterback Josh Allen and his team, who took the defending Super Bowl champions down to the wire, the Bills were unable to notch their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994.

Allen threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, and his touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel with 3:59 remaining knotted the game 29-29 and gave the Bills a fighting chance. However, the Bills’ defense was unable to make a play when it mattered, and the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes marched his team down the field to set up a game-winning field goal.

The loss marks the ninth time in the last 12 years that the Bills have fallen short in the playoffs against Kansas City, with their only victory coming in Week 11 this season.

“We had a chance with the ball in our hands to win it, and we came up a little bit short right there,” said coach Sean McDermott. “I thought we had a chance to catch the ball, but at the end of the day, I’m extremely proud of this football team.”
