Biden targets billionaires’ influence on newspapers with sweeping changes.

President Biden Expresses Concern Over Changing Media Landscape

In a recent interview with MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas, President Biden lamented the drastic changes in the media landscape, specifically highlighting the influence of billionaires purchasing major newspapers. When asked about the lack of positive news coverage about the Biden economy, the President attributed it to technology changing the process for “everything.” He also criticized the dearth of editors willing to take a stand against biased reporting.

Biden mentioned the rise of billionaires buying influential newspapers, such as the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, and their tendency to suppress editorials and endorsements that contradict their own political views. He stated that it would take time for the situation to “sort out.” The President was referring to the recent decisions by prominent billionaire newspaper owners to forgo endorsing presidential candidates, including Jeff Bezos and Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong.

Biden expressed his disappointment with the media’s focus on “horse race” politics and the lack of attention to more substantial issues. Despite being asked about his presidency, the President seemed unwilling to engage in self-criticism, stating that he “generically” had no regrets about his term in office. The White House declined to comment on the matter.
