President Biden Privately Regrets Dropping Out of 2024 Election, Says He Could Have Beat Trump

President Joe Biden has been telling confidantes that he could have won the 2024 presidential election if he hadn’t dropped out of the race due to pressure from the Democratic Party. According to sources briefed on the conversations, Biden and his aides have been saying that they were confident in his chances of defeating President-elect Donald Trump and believe that his poor performance in the June 27 debate and subsequent poll numbers were not indicative of his ability to win.

Biden made his confidence in winning the election clear in a CBS News interview in August, saying he was confident that he would have defeated Trump. He also told “The View” that he was “screwed up” during the debate and was “stupid” for not getting credit by putting his name on the pandemic relief checks his administration sent out in 2021.

Despite his private regrets, Biden has not placed blame on his running mate, Kamala Harris, who replaced him on the Democratic ticket and was ultimately defeated by Trump. Instead, Biden has been careful not to criticize Harris or her campaign.

Some of Biden’s closest advisers have acknowledged that his old-fashioned governing style may not have been well-suited for modern politics, and that his reluctance to step aside sooner may have hurt the Democratic Party’s chances of winning the election. Despite this, Biden’s men and women are said to be straying from faulting the president, instead focusing on the missteps of the campaign.

The President and his staff have also been talking about a number of mistakes made during his time in office, including his decision to choose Merrick Garland as attorney general. According to sources, Biden has been telling confidants that Garland was too aggressive in prosecuting his son Hunter and too slow in prosecuting Trump over the January 6 riots, which were ultimately dismissed.
