President Biden Hands Out Presidential Medals of Freedom, Scorned by Some for Recipients
Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre was among those who reacted to President Biden giving out Presidential Medals of Freedom on Saturday. Critics on social media panned the move, calling out the awarding of the medal to Hillary Clinton and George Soros.
Clinton, the former Secretary of State, has been criticized for her handling of the war in Libya and the attack on United States government facilities in Benghazi, as well as her use of a private email server for government business, which led to the investigation into her handling of classified information by the FBI.
Soros, a major Democratic donor, was slammed for his campaign funding of progressive district attorneys who have been criticized for being soft on crime, leading to a surge in crime rates in blue cities.
Favre, a longtime supporter of Donald Trump, expressed his disappointment at the ceremony, stating “What words would you use to describe the White House medals that were given out because I’m honestly speechless.”
The Presidential Medal of Freedom was also awarded to soccer legend Lionel Messi, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to a scheduling conflict.
