Benjamin Netanyahu recovers from major prostate surgery following UTI diagnosis.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Successfully Undergoes Surgery, Recovering in Hospital

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu successfully underwent surgery on Sunday, according to his office, after suffering a urinary tract infection that was reportedly caused by a benign enlargement of his prostate.

Netanyahu, 75, had the surgery to remove his prostate, which the office said was done without complications. The prime minister was reported to be in good condition after the operation and was transferred to a secure underground recovery unit, where he will remain for observation in the coming days.

The surgery was performed at an Israeli hospital, and Netanyahu’s office thanked the team of doctors who operated on him. This is the second time in two years that Netanyahu has undergone a major health procedure, having had a pacemaker implanted to regulate his heart rate and rhythm in 2023.

The development comes as Netanyahu continues to testify in a corruption case against him in Israel and while he leads the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in multiple fronts across the Middle East, targeting Iranian terrorists and their proxies. Additionally, the IDF recently launched multiple strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen and Houthi infrastructure in other areas.

Netanyahu’s overall health has been under scrutiny in recent years, having had multiple health issues, including severe dehydration and a hernia surgery. He has also had to step down from his role temporarily while undergoing treatment, most recently in 2023.
