Bengals star Tee Higgins thanks Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase for their support amidst free agency uncertainty.

Cincinnati Bengals Star Wide Receiver Tee Higgins’ Future in Limbo

The Cincinnati Bengals are focused on winning the remainder of their season with hopes of sneaking into the playoffs, but for star wide receiver Tee Higgins, his future with the team is uncertain. Regardless of how the season unfolds, Higgins will be a free agent, leaving many wondering if he will stay with the Bengals or explore options elsewhere.

Quarterback Joe Burrow and fellow receiver Ja’Marr Chase have both commented on Higgins’ uncertain future, with Chase stating that he feels Higgins deserves to stay with the team. Burrow said he would be “very disappointed” to see Higgins playing for another team. Higgins himself has said that it means a lot to him to have teammates standing up for him, noting that it shows he’s an asset to the team.

Higgins’ decision will likely be influenced by his agent, Rocky Arceneaux, who also represents Chase. However, the Bengals may have difficulty paying both Chase and Higgins, with Higgins having a market value of $18.3 million. Over the past five seasons, Higgins has accumulated two 1,000-yard seasons and 30 total touchdowns.

Despite a down year in 2023, Higgins has shown flashes of brilliance, with 669 yards on 50 catches and six touchdowns in nine games this season. He has built chemistry with Burrow and Chase, with Chase stating that he wants Higgins to stay but believes it’s ultimately out of his control.

For Higgins, the decision is looming, and only time will tell if he will stick with the Bengals or opt for a new challenge.
