The Bengals’ Defense Struggles Again as Steelers Roll to Victory

The Bengals’ defense had another tough day, allowing the Steelers to rack up 520 yards and score five consecutive times after an early pick-six. Despite some promising moments on offense, the Bengals ultimately came up short due to their 3-1 deficit in turnovers.

Quarterback Joe Burrow acknowledged that the team’s performance wasn’t enough to win, saying “not enough to win. Not enough to win. Some good, some bad, just like every week. But not enough to win.” The Bengals are now 1-7 in one-score games this season and have allowed at least 24 points to nine of their 12 opponents.

Despite the struggles, Burrow still has faith in the defense and believes they will find a way to improve. He also expects the remaining games to reveal which players can be counted on and who might be on the roster for shorter stints. Burrow is prepared to take on more responsibility and play to the peak of his ability to keep the Bengals competitive, knowing that the margin for error is small.

“We’ve got to find a way,” said wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, echoing Burrow’s sentiments. The Bengals will need to regroup and find a way to improve their defense if they hope to turn their season around.
