Patrick Mahomes is on pace to miss zero games after suffering an ankle injury in Week 15. Despite being helped off the field in the win over the Cleveland Browns, Mahomes completed 28 of 41 pass attempts for 260 yards with a touchdown, took one sack, and rushed five times for 33 yards and a score in the win over Houston.

“We haven’t done a ton as far as getting out there on the practice field, but we’ve done two walk-throughs now, and I feel like I can move around and do what I need to do,” Mahomes said. “I think the ankle should be in a better place. We’ll see in practice, but as far as how I felt after this game, I’m definitely in a lot better place.”

Mahomes plans to put on a better show than last year’s Grinch-of-a-performance against Las Vegas. He expressed his excitement about playing on Christmas Day, saying, “It’s really cool playing the first Netflix game, playing on Christmas Day in front of the whole nation. It’s an honor, and so we will go out there trying to do what we can to not have the same experience we had last Christmas.”

The Chiefs can clinch the No. 1 overall seed and a first-round playoff bye with a win on Christmas Day. With the ankle concerns behind him, Mahomes will be looking to rest his ankle and focus on the team’s three-peat attempt.
