BBW Rapper Sues Lyft After Driver Denies Ride Due to “Low-Profile Tires”

A 36-year-old rapper, Dajua Blanding, also known as Dank Demoss, has filed a lawsuit against ride-sharing company Lyft, alleging discrimination after a driver denied her a ride to a Detroit Lions watch party due to concerns about her size.

According to Blanding, she was turned down by the driver, who allegedly said, “I can fit in this car” after she asked for a ride. Blanding recorded the incident and posted it on TikTok and Instagram, leading several of her fans to come to the driver’s defense, claiming he was simply doing his job by denying the ride.

The driver, who was reportedly respectful and polite throughout the interaction, explained that it was against the law to overload a car, and offered an alternative solution to get Blanding to her destination. Additionally, some of Blanding’s fans accused her of “playing victim” and suggested that she was not being treated unfairly.

In a statement, Lyft condemned all forms of discrimination, stating that it prohibits harassment or discrimination in its community guidelines and terms of service. Despite the controversy, the incident has sparked a heated debate about the company’s policies and the treatment of plus-size individuals in the ride-sharing community.
