Bailey Chase and Jesse Hutch discuss their surprise franchise and green beret training on set with Angel Studios.

Bailey Chase and Jesse Hutch Star in Apocalypse Thriller Homestead

Homestead, a new film starring Bailey Chase and Jesse Hutch, follows two former Green Berets as they attempt to protect their loved ones in a post-apocalyptic world. The movie is based on the book Black Autumn and is also being adapted into a TV series.

Chase, known for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Longmire, stars as Jeff Eriksson, a family man who finds himself in the midst of chaos when a nuclear bomb is detonated in Los Angeles. Hutch, who has appeared in shows such as Arrow and Batwoman, plays Evan Lee, a fellow former Green Beret who joins Eriksson and his family at The Homestead, a prepper’s fortress nestled in the mountains.

The movie also features an ensemble cast, including Yellowstone alums Dawn Olivieri and Neal McDonough, as well as Walker’s Kearran Giovanni, Jack Ryan’s Susan Misner, Tyler Lofton, Kevin Lawson, Currie Graham, Olivia Sanabia, and Ariel Llinas.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Chase and Hutch discussed their experience working on the film, which they praised for its rarity as a franchise that began with a feature film and is now being expanded into a TV series. They also talked about the emotional nature of Jeff’s family storyline and the training they underwent to authentically portray former Green Berets.

Homestead is now in theaters, with the first three episodes of its sequel show available to stream on Angel Studios’ website and app.
