Authorities arrest Tren de Aragua gang members hiding in NYC apartment near daycare facility.

Venezuelan Gang Members Busted in NYC Apartment Building Next to Daycare Center

A group of suspected members of the bloodthirsty Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua (TdA) were arrested in a New York City apartment building located next to a daycare center, highlighting the gang’s ability to blend in with the general population in the sanctuary city.

The raid, which took place on December 5, was carried out by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the NYPD’s federal task force, and resulted in the arrest of 22 suspected TdA members. The apartment building is located in the Bronx, and the raid was part of a larger operation that targeted the gang’s activities in the city.

The TdA gang has been linked to a range of violent crimes, including murders, shootings of police officers, assaults, robberies, and gun smuggling into migrant shelters. The gang has taken advantage of the lax southern border under the Biden-Harris administration, with many of its foot soldiers swarming the US and unleashing hell on unsuspecting communities.

The alleged gang members were tracked to the Bronx apartment building after tracing the ankle monitor of suspected TdA member Jarwin Valero-Calderon to the hideout. Valero-Calderon was one of those taken into custody on December 5 and was wanted on multiple warrants after crossing the US border with Mexico.

The raids were welcomed by New York City Council Member Joe Borelli, who argued that the Democratic Party is entrenched against having the NYPD cooperate with ICE to remove migrant criminals from the city. “This is a gang that set up camp in our city, and it is beyond the pale that the Democratic Party is entrenched against having the NYPD cooperate with ICE to remove them,” Borelli said.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., also commented on the raids, stating that Democrats have been weakening laws to allow for illegal immigrants, gangs, and criminal organizations to stay within New York and “wreak havoc.” “It’s good news that we’re hearing Eric Adams change tune, but quite frankly, he has the ability right now under existing law to cooperate with ICE detainer requests for people who are hardened criminals for violent offenders, for sex offenders,” Malliotakis said.

The TdA gang has been operating in 16 states, according to reports, and its members have been arrested and deported multiple times. The gang’s ability to evade detection and continue its violent activities has raised concerns among law enforcement officials and lawmakers.
