Aubrey Plaza’s Husband Jeff Baena Found Dead at 47
Jeff Baena, the filmmaker and husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, was found dead at their Los Angeles home on Friday. He was 47 years old. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, Baena’s body was discovered by an assistant at around 10:30am, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Baena and Plaza, who is best known for her role in the TV series “Parks and Recreation,” had been married since 2021. The couple had been together for over 14 years and had worked on several projects together, including the films “Life After Beth,” “Joshy,” and “Spin Me Round.”
In the past, Plaza had spoken about the challenges of working with her partner, saying that it could be “complicated” and that they had to create a “safe space” to work together. However, she had also praised Baena, saying that he was “awesome” and that she loved working with him.
The couple had also faced public backlash in the past, with Baena receiving “death threats” from people in the LGBTQ+ community after they got married. Plaza had spoken about the experience, saying that it was “sad” and that she wished people would be more supportive of her and her partner.
In recent years, Plaza had spoken about her desire to start a family with Baena, but ultimately decided not to due to the “apocalyptic state of the world.” She had also been open about the “rough patches” they had experienced in their relationship, saying that they had to work through their issues and communicate effectively.
Baena is survived by his wife, his mother, stepfather, stepmother, brother, and step siblings. Aubrey Plaza has not publicly commented on her husband’s death.
