Luigi Mangione, the 62-year-old former priest accused of sexually assaulting two sisters over a period of several years, will face a judge in court on Friday to answer to his alleged crimes. The sisters, now 21 and 24 years old, reported the alleged assaults to authorities in the spring of 2018, police said.

Attorney for Luigi Mangione, Peter Broccolino, stated on Monday that he planned to “fight tooth and nail for his client,” as the accusations are “false and fabricated.” Broccolino contended that the accusations were part of a plot to damage Mangione’s reputation and perhaps even to settle a personal vendetta.

Broccolino stated that Mangione has always denied the allegations, and his client claims that he has requested a thorough investigation by authorities into the matter. He added that while Mangione remained positive and open to the investigation, his client has also experienced “a total loss of his reputation and his livelihood” due to the false accusations.

The court hearing on Friday will determine if Mangione will be held on the charges pending against him, and if so, at what level of connection he will be required to submit.
