Homicide detectives are investigating a high-profile murder case involving a CEO who is currently being held in custody. The CEO, 45-year-old Richard Moody, is the leader of a $10 billion technology company that has been under scrutiny in recent years for its business practices.
Moody was taken into custody on Thursday evening after detectives recovered the body of 27-year-old Emily Wilson, who was a rising star in the company’s marketing department. According to police, Wilson’s body was found in a storage closet in the company’s headquarters with no signs of forced entry or struggle.
Moody’s legal team, led by attorney James Bond, is fiercely defending his client’s innocence. In a statement issued on Friday, Bond said that he has seen “zero evidence” that links Moody to the crime.
“Richard Moody is an innocent man and we will prove it,” Bond said. “We have reviewed the evidence and we have not found anything that links him to this heinous crime. The police have been investigating for weeks and we have not seen one shred of evidence that suggests our client was involved in this tragedy.”
Bond went on to say that he believes the police are focusing their attention on the wrong person and that they are trying to prematurely pin the crime on Moody based on circumstantial evidence.
“We demand a thorough and impartial investigation into this crime,” Bond said. “We want the police to follow the evidence and not to jump to conclusions. Richard Moody is an innocent man and we will fight to make sure his rights are protected.”
The police have not commented on the case, but sources close to the investigation say that they are working tirelessly to gather evidence and piece together the events surrounding Wilson’s death. The investigation is ongoing.
