Antioch HS shooter’s writings revealed as “very concerning”

Online Writings Linked to Nashville School Shooter Include Racist and Antisemitic Content

Investigators are combing through the online writings of the 17-year-old gunman who opened fire at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee, killing one student and wounding another. The writings include racist and antisemitic content, photos of a handgun, and praise for mass murderers.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) is working with local, state, and federal agencies to determine the motive behind the shooting. The police have not yet established a connection between the shooter and the two victims, with the possibility that they were struck by random gunfire in the cafeteria.

The online writings, posted on a social media account allegedly operated by the shooter, also include the layout of Antioch High School, an image of a flyer from a neo-Nazi White supremacy group that visited Nashville last summer, and an image of the shooter who killed three children and three staff members at the Covenant School in Nashville in 2023.

The material is described as antisemitic, with the shooter expressing thoughts of violence for several months. It also contains praise for other mass shooters.

The police are working to establish a motive behind the shooting, with investigators examining the online writings and social media posts connected to the shooter. The online streaming platform Kick has also taken down the account and removed the video, stating that violence has no place on its platform.

The shooting at Antioch High School has left two people dead, including the attacker, and has sparked a massive investigation. Police are working to help the community heal in the days and weeks ahead.
