Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has a lot of experience with football, but when it comes to being a dad, he’s also got plenty of wisdom to share. The latest addition to the Mahomes family, their third child, has been announced. Patrick and Brittany welcomed their second daughter, Golden Raye Mahomes, on Sunday, January 12. The couple also has a 2-year-old son, Patrick Lavon III, nicknamed Bronze.
As a father of five, Andy Reid had some words of wisdom for the young quarterback. “Once you have three, four and five are easy. That’s what I told him. You’ve made three, you add a couple more, we’ll talk,” Reid said with a smile. However, for now, the focus is on the playoffs.
The Chiefs will take on the Houston Texans on Saturday in the divisional round at Arrowhead Stadium as they pursue a historic third straight championship. The team is well-rested after securing a bye as the No. 1 seed. “I think every year is special,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, you want to win three in a row and build those memories with the guys and the community. But every single year is special. And when I look back at all the different Super Bowls that we’ve won, I look back at special moments that we’ve had and special games that we’ve had. And so, we’ll try to do the same this year.”
