Aidan O’Connell to start at QB for Raiders vs. Chiefs on Black Friday, returning from injured reserve.

Raiders Hope for Upset Win Against AFC West Rivals Chiefs on Black Friday

With a short week of preparation, quarterback Derek Carr will return to the lineup this week against the 10-1 Kansas City Chiefs, who are tied for the best record in the NFL. The challenge is daunting, but Las Vegas head coach Josh McDaniels senses an opportunity for his 2-9 squad.

The Raiders will be led by quarterback DJ O’Connell, who returns to the lineup after suffering a broken thumb and subsequent injuries to other players. O’Connell has been a full participant in each practice this week and is looking to help his team pull off an upset against their AFC West rivals.

“We’ll see if O’Connell lets it loose enough to propel the Raiders to another upset,” said McDaniels. “The best team in football against the worst team in football. Let’s change the narrative. Let’s go out there and make it a dogfight, let’s make it ugly, let’s make it scrappy. It’s Black Friday, let’s create a little chaos, let’s get back to Raider football and have some fun and some personality. Let it loose.”

Despite being the underdogs, the Raiders are looking for a win on their home turf and to make a statement against one of the top teams in the league.
