Mark Andrews’ Shocking Performance in Ravens’ Loss to Bills

Mark Andrews’ career has been defined by consistency, making his showing in the Ravens’ two-point loss to the Bills all the more shocking. Despite catching five passes for 61 yards, he dropped one pass and fumbled after a catch in a key spot, ending a drive as the Ravens appeared set to regain the lead.

When the Ravens needed a two-point conversion to tie the game, offensive coordinator Todd Monken dialed up a pass to Andrews, but he dropped the ball, capping a nightmarish day. This low point came amidst an otherwise highly successful career, earning three Pro Bowl nods and a first-team All-Pro selection in seven NFL seasons.

Andrews has been a top target for Lamar Jackson, reaching a peak output of 107 catches for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2021 season. Prior to the arrival of Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman’s breakout season, the Ravens relied heavily on Andrews. However, with the addition of Isaiah Likely, the Ravens have become more versatile and less reliant on Andrews.

Despite his struggles, Andrews refuses to let one rough day define him, writing that it will only fuel his efforts as the Ravens embark on another pursuit of a Super Bowl next season.
