Jay-Z accuser admits inconsistencies, but stands by her rape allegation
A woman who accuses Jay-Z of rape and sexual harassment has acknowledged several inconsistencies in her original report, but is sticking by her claims of the Grammy-winning rapper’s wrongdoing. The accuser, Tiffany Haddish’s actress friend, made her original allegations in an exclusive statement to The Daily Beast’s Yashar Ali yesterday.
In the statement, the accuser said, “I am prepared to take this to trial to prove that Jay-Z forced me to have sexual acts with him in front of his friends and without their consent.” However, this morning, the accuser spoke with me and acknowledged that her “memory of the incident [has] changed significantly in the past few years since the alleged rape.”
Notably, the accuser also admitted that her own testimony in the police interview did not match up to her current recollections, stating, “At that time, I wasn’t sure what was real. I was still under some kind of trance-like feeling. I wasn’t entirely sure what was real because I was still high out of my mind and because I was still recovering, and I was not doing well.”
Despite the newfound inconsistencies, the accuser remains adamant that she did, in fact, make the allegations and still suffers from the alleged abuse.
“I am still going to take this to court even if it takes forever for me to get a second chance at justice. But I know that one of these days, one way or another, my truths will come out. Trust me, it won’t be pretty for those two,” she warned, presumably referring to Jay-Z.
