A TOP news anchor has been branded a “pathetic narcissist” after he was caught pinning his firefighter’s jacket to look more masculine during a Los Angeles wildfire broadcast. ABC’s David Muir was seen using a clothespin to tighten his fire jacket while reporting live on the devastating blaze.

As he turned around to show the destruction behind him, a clip holding his ABC-branded fire jacket from behind was revealed to the viewers. The clamp appeared to tighten Muir’s jacket in a way that made his torso look more chiselled.

ABC viewers have since dubbed the journalist a “pathetic narcissist” and said Muir used the pin to “look more snacky” on TV while Los Angeles continued to burn. Many have taken to social media to slam Muir, calling him “pathetic” and “narcissistic”.

It’s worth noting that using clothes pegs to cinch clothes is a standard style practice in TV broadcasts. However, Muir’s use of the clothespin attracted major criticism as viewers were left fuming by the act.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles wildfires continue to rage on, with at least 130,000 people forced to evacuate and five people killed. Celebrity homes have also been destroyed, including those of Paris Hilton, John Goodman, and Anthony Hopkins.
