New York Jets’ interim coach Jeff Ulbrich announced that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will continue to be the team’s starting quarterback as long as he remains healthy. According to Ulbrich, Rodgers has returned from the team’s bye-week break feeling physically refreshed and ready to play.

Rodgers, 40, has been dealing with various leg injuries throughout the season, including a sore knee, sprained ankle, and balky hamstring. However, Ulbrich says that the quarterback is feeling better today than he has in some time.

“We’re all excited to have him out there,” Ulbrich said. “He’s doing better today than he has for quite a while now. And I know talking to him, that’s the way he wants to do it, too.”

Rodgers has still not made a decision about whether he wants to play football next season, but has expressed his desire to return to the Jets if he does play again.

“I came here to win here, so I’m not jumping off ship,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show”. “I don’t even know if I want to play yet, but New York would be my first option.”

Coach Ulbrich is optimistic about having a healthier version of Rodgers on the field, stating that he’s excited to see the quarterback take advantage of his quarterback movement and playmaking ability.

“Taking advantage of the stuff that he’s done at a Hall of Fame level his entire career,” Ulbrich said. “So, excited to see a healthier version of Aaron out there.”
