Aaron Rodgers’ anti-vax stance could propel him to politics, claims former NFL rival.

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher believes that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has the potential to be a viable candidate for public office in the future. One aspect of Rodgers’ personality that Urlacher thinks would make him a good politician is his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Urlacher, who played against Rodgers from 2008 to 2012, said that he respects Rodgers for standing up for people who didn’t want to get the vaccine. He believes that this decision showed Rodgers’ commitment to his own beliefs, even in the face of controversy.

Rodgers famously tested positive for COVID in November 2021 after saying he was “immunized” earlier that year. The NFL fined Rodgers and the Packers $300,000 and issued $14,650 in fines for violating league and players’ union protocols. Rodgers, however, stood by his decision not to get vaccinated, citing concerns about side effects and allergies to an ingredient in some vaccines.

Urlacher believes that this moment of defiance could potentially garner support for Rodgers among those who share his views. He also praised Rodgers’ willingness to take a stance, even if it put him at odds with some people.

Rodgers, who has firmly defended his decision not to get the vaccine, has said in the past that he makes decisions based on his own research and consultation with medical professionals. Urlacher expressed admiration for Rodgers’ determination to stand by his decisions, even in the face of criticism.

While nothing has been officially announced regarding Rodgers’ political aspirations, Urlacher’s comments indicate that he sees potential leadership qualities in the quarterback that could translate to a life in politics.
