NFL star A.J. Brown’s recent appearance on the sideline reading a book, “Inner Excellence” by self-help author Jim Murphy, led to a surge in book sales, with the title jumping to the number one spot on Amazon’s trending list. The Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver finished the 2024 season with 67 catches and 1,079 yards, despite missing four games, and was rewarded with a three-year contract extension that included $84 million in guaranteed money.
Brown and the Eagles are now focused on preventing a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl three-peat and avoiding a repeat of the 2023 Super Bowl, in which they came close to winning but ultimately fell short. Brown caught six passes for 96 yards and scored a touchdown in the 2023 Super Bowl, but the Chiefs took the lead in the fourth quarter and emerged victorious.
The experience still lingers, with Brown and his teammates haunted by the what-ifs of that game. “A play here, a play there, and the Eagles could have been Super Bowl champions,” he said. “I don’t want to get into it because we may run it back.”
Brown has been trying to steel his emotions amidst the Super Bowl hype, citing that it’s not just about him or his teammates, but about the fans and the organization as well. He’s been turning down media requests, stating that “none of this stuff matters” in the grand scheme of things. The Super Bowl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
