Derek Carr to Miss Several Weeks, Season Possibly Over, After Suffering Fracture to Non-Throwing Hand
NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Monday that New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr suffered a significant fracture to his left, non-throwing hand, according to sources informed of the injury. The injury will sideline Carr for at least a couple of weeks, and given the remaining four weeks in the season, his injury appears to represent a season-ender.
Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi confirmed the injury on Monday, stating that Carr is also in concussion protocol and is in a “week-to-week” situation with his injuries. Rizzi did not rule out Carr for the Week 15 game against the Washington Commanders and does not believe the QB will be placed on IR.
