Neighbors Remain on Edge as Burglars Dressed as Gardeners Target Homes in San Bernardino County
Residents in Rancho Cucamonga, California, are on high alert after a recent burglary attempt, in which two masked men dressed as gardeners targeted a home. Surveillance video captured the incident on December 5, showing the suspects approaching the house in a black SUV, parking in the driveway, and then breaking into the garage.
The first suspect opened the garage door from the inside, while the second suspect opened the car trunk. They then quickly lifted a large safe out of the garage and into the trunk of their vehicle, which was identified as a black Mazda. The getaway car was not recognized by neighbors.
The burglars were described as dressed in gardening or maintenance attire, leading neighbors to speculate that they may have been monitoring the residence beforehand. The quick and precise execution of the break-in suggests that the suspects may have been familiar with the house and its layout.
While it is unclear whether this is an isolated incident or part of a larger pattern, residents are concerned that the burglars may strike again. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward, and neighbors are taking extra precautions to ensure their homes are secure.
