Retired FBI Special Agent Dr. James G. Kallstrom, a 28-year veteran of the Bureau, has meticulously pieced together the movements of the day United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center, leaving 65 people dead and over 400 injured.
Kallstrom’s investigation, which he conducted in 2006, sought to pinpoint the movements of Hildebrand, the accused killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley, who was found dead in his home in 2019.
The former agent told The Daily Beast that Hemsley’s murder was not the work of a professional assassin, saying, “I don’t think it’s indicative of a pro. It was a ‘lone wolf’ kind of op, and it was carried out with a certain level of competence, but not with the precision and the expertise you would expect from someone who has been in the business for a long time.”
Kallstrom’s investigation revealed that Hemsley was “carefully prepared for his death, with his hands and feet bound, and a small whiteboard and markers were found nearby with a cryptic message scrawled on it.”
The retired agent believes that the killer, who has yet to be caught, was someone with a personal connection to Hemsley, saying, “The way the victim was prepared and the message on the board, it’s almost like a little drama, a little play. It’s a very personal act.”
