FLOATING Train that’s Faster than a Plane Begins Construction

Ad

A groundbreaking floating train that uses magnetic levitation (maglev) technology to achieve speeds of over 621mph has begun construction. The train, developed by China Railway, will allow passengers to travel faster than a plane and is designed to be more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.

The train will use 5G technology to connect passengers and will eliminate friction by levitating on thin air using superconducting magnets and a low-vacuum pipe. The magnets will interact with the metal sides of the pipe to propel the train forward.

According to China Railway, their goal is to develop trains that are faster, smarter, and more environmentally friendly. The new design is expected to be significantly faster than the current average cruising speed of long-haul commercial passenger aircraft, which ranges from 547 to 575mph.

China Railway has already laid the first track for the floating train, which will branch off from the existing 11.5-mile Maglev Express Line S2 from Changsha Nan station. The train will connect to the existing maglev train in Shanghai, which has been in operation for several years.

Maintaining communication between phones and base stations at near-sonic speeds has been a challenge for experts, and researchers from Southeast University have proposed a solution by laying two parallel cables along the inner wall of the tube to emit electromagnetic signals to minimize disruptions.

China Railway’s development of the high-speed train is a major step forward in the high-speed railway development, with other global powers also developing their own high-speed trains.
