Ab-Soul Responds To Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Heart Pt. 6’ Shoutout
Ab-Soul has responded to Kendrick Lamar’s recent shoutout on his song “Heart Pt. 6”. The song, which dropped in 2022, features a verse where Kendrick mentions Ab-Soul, stating, “That’s my man Ab-Soul, he’s the soul of Top Dawg Entertainment.”
Ab-Soul took to Instagram to acknowledge the nod, praising Kendrick for his ability to bring people together through his music. He wrote, “It’s crazy to think that a song I release in the midst of so much chaos, would touch someone in the way that it did. The world’s too big for us to not be able to find common ground…Thank you for being a leader, Killer.”
Ab-Soul also took a moment to reflect on the significance of being part of the same label as Kendrick, Top Dawg Entertainment. He wrote, “Labelmates for life… We all come from different walks of life, but the music we make is what brings us together… Feels good to be part of something so much bigger than ourselves.”
The two rappers have a long-standing relationship, with Ab-Soul having released several projects through Top Dawg Entertainment, including his debut album “Longterm M.C.” in 2011 and “To Pimp a Butterfly” in 2015.
