Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to Meet with President Trump to Discuss US Artificial Intelligence Policy
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is set to meet with President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. on Friday afternoon to discuss U.S. artificial intelligence policy. According to sources, the main topic of discussion is likely to be China’s DeepSeek, as well as an opportunity for the two leaders to get to know each other. Huang’s visit comes as Nvidia faces several regulatory challenges related to international demand for its AI chips, including export restrictions and upcoming diffusion rules that severely limit chip sales overseas.
The meeting also comes as the White House evaluates U.S. chip restrictions on China, which are currently being reviewed. Additionally, Trump and Huang are expected to discuss investments in U.S. chip production, as the Commerce Department looks to revamp the previous administration’s CHIPS Act.
The meeting marks the first time Huang has met with Trump since his second term began last week. Huang has visited Nvidia offices in China on inauguration day, and has not been as vocal as other tech CEOs in embracing Trump. However, the meeting with Trump is seen as an opportunity for Huang to discuss key issues affecting Nvidia, including the restrictions on its AI chips and the company’s international business.
