Hegseth shares details on Black Hawk crew’s experience and equipment.

A senior-level investigation team from the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence was deployed to assist in the investigation of a recent aircraft incident. The team will aim to determine if the aircraft was at the correct altitude at the time of the incident. The event has been described as a “tragedy” and a “horrible loss of life” for the 64 souls on the civilian airline and three soldiers in the Black Hawk.

In recent weeks, President Trump has made significant changes to the aviation administration, including firing top officials, slashing a key advisory group, and pausing new regulations. Just days before the incident, Trump also fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and Coast Guard. Additionally, the former FAA Director, Michael Whitaker, resigned after serving for only a year, citing pressure and harassment from SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
