J.J. Watt, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, has voiced his displeasure with the current state of the Pro Bowl. The NFL has changed the format from a typical all-star game to a skills competition, featuring a flag football game, dodgeball, and other competitions. This year, numerous players have backed out of the Pro Bowl, citing various reasons.

Jayden Daniels, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson are among the players who will not participate in the Pro Bowl. Watt took to social media to express his frustration, stating, “When you get 5 alternates deep, just call it the Participation Bowl.” The Houston Texans defensive end’s comment comes after 24 players replaced original selections.

The Pro Bowl Games will run from Thursday to Sunday in Orlando, Florida, featuring 106 Pro Bowlers this season. The event has become less appealing to fans, prompting the NFL to change the format. Watt’s comments highlight the growing discontent among players and fans alike.
