Jim Acosta, the former CNN anchor, sent a direct message to President Trump as he announced the launch of his new show, “The Jim Acosta Show,” following his departure from the cable network. Acosta, who revealed he was leaving CNN, wrote on his new Substack page that “The Trump administration and its MAGA allies made it their mission in life to run me out of town on a rail” and vowed he would not pull any punches in his reporting.
Acosta’s message was a response to Trump’s earlier comments, where he celebrated Acosta’s departure from CNN, calling it “really good news” and claiming that Acosta was a “sleazebag” and “one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history.”
Acosta, who was left off CNN’s updated programming schedule, announced his departure on his final broadcast, saying he had decided to move on after being offered an alternative timeslot.
