TICKET PRICES PLUMMET AHEAD OF SUPER BOWL
Ticket prices for the upcoming Super Bowl are plummeting, with get-in pricing for the big game sitting around $4,600 for a ticket. This is a significant decrease from last year, when entry-level Super Bowl tickets were going for over $7,000. Similar tickets from the previous two Super Bowl venues were sold for $6,000 each.
The decreased interest in buying tickets is partly due to the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to their fifth Super Bowl in six years, causing fans to get tired of the same team repeatedly making it to the championship. Additionally, this is a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, so fans have already seen this matchup play out.
Despite the lower ticket prices, the cost of attending the Super Bowl may actually increase due to limited flights and high hotel costs. The Superdome, which has a capacity of around 74,000 fans, has a larger capacity than the previous two Super Bowl venues. However, it is already a popular tourist destination, causing hotels to be pricier.
Fans are stunned by the high cost of tickets, with one fan commenting that they make fairly good money, but the ticket prices were “way out of my budget”. Another fan lamented that a pair of Super Bowl tickets with service fees totalled $16,135, while a fifth fan joked that everyone who goes to the Super Bowl must be rich.
