The New Orleans Saints are still searching for a new head coach after parting ways with Dennis Allen in November, and it appears at least one candidate won’t be getting the job.

According to NFL Media, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Saints’ head coaching position. Brady had been linked to other head coaching openings, with the Saints reportedly wanting to interview him a second time and having a preference to keep him guiding their offense.

The Saints’ 2024 season started off well, with the team winning its first two games by 37 and 25 points. However, a losing streak that followed led to a mid-season coaching change. In a statement, team owner Gayle Benson praised Allen, stating, “Dennis has been an excellent football coach for us, and I wish him nothing but the best in the future.”

Allen ended his head coaching tenure in New Orleans with an 18-25 record, having previously served seven seasons as defensive coordinator before becoming head coach. He is now a top candidate for the Chicago Bears’ defensive coordinator position.

In the meantime, the Saints are still searching for their next head coach, interviewing candidates such as Darren Rizzi, Mike Kafka, and Anthony Weaver. Kellen Moore, the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator, has also had a virtual interview with the team.
