Novak Djokovic Post MRI Scan to Prove Injured Hamstring is Real

Novak Djokovic posted a scan of his injured left hamstring on social media after being booed at the Australian Open for quitting his semifinal match. The 37-year-old tennis star said he had a torn muscle, but faced criticism from fans who questioned the severity of the injury. Djokovic seemingly let the backlash get to him, posting the picture of the MRI taken Saturday to prove the doubters wrong.

The veteran tennis star did not offer any additional information, such as the exact diagnosis he might have received or any timeline for his recovery. Djokovic stopped his match against Alexander Zverev after dropping the opening set in a tiebreaker on Friday, sparking boos from the crowd. He put both thumbs up before leaving the court.

Zverev chastised those who booed Djokovic, saying that the Serbian tennis star has given the sport “absolutely everything of his life” over the past 20 years. Djokovic had been hurt late in the first set of his previous match against Carlos Alcaraz and finished that match with tape on his upper left leg.
