This season’s NFC Championship Game pits the Philadelphia Eagles against the Washington Commanders in a long-standing NFC East rivalry. The two teams have played each other 182 times, with the Commanders holding a slight edge with a 90-86-6 record.

The teams have met once in the postseason, with the Commanders claiming a 20-6 victory in the 1990 wild-card round. In that game, Hall of Famer Art Monk and four-time Pro Bowler Gary Clark caught touchdown passes from Mark Rypien, while running back Earnest Byner led Washington with seven receptions and 77 receiving yards.

This season, the teams have split the series, each winning on their respective home turf. Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been sensational this season, but the Eagles were able to slow him down in their two games against each other.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has thrived against the Commanders, boasting a 6-3 career record and 101.9 passer rating against them. The Eagles have had the better of the series recently, winning 12 of the last 16 matchups.

The two franchises have sent a combined 57 people to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including current Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, who won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles. In fact, many of the franchises’ best players have suited up for both teams, including quarterbacks Sonny Jurgensen and Donovan McNabb, wide receivers Art Monk and DeSean Jackson, and linebackers Ryan Kerrigan and Jeremiah Trotter.

The game is scheduled to kick off on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
