Hamas Announces Release of Kidnapped Israeli Woman Daniella Gilboa
As part of the second release of the first phase of a hostage-ceasefire agreement, Hamas announced on Friday that they would release 20-year-old Daniella Gilboa on Saturday. Gilboa, a talented singer, was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz Outpost in Gaza along with other IDF observers in October. She has been held captive by Hamas terrorists since then.
According to reports, Gilboa has appeared in multiple videos released by her captors, including a recent video where she directed criticism at the government. In the footage, she appears strong and determined, but her mother, Orly Gilboa, has said that psychological assessments indicate that her mental state is poor.
Gilboa was originally named Daniel, but her parents changed her name to Daniella after her abduction, following the recommendation of a rabbi. The family has been working tirelessly to secure her release, and her return is expected on Saturday.
Daniella’s loved ones, including her boyfriend of eight years, are eagerly awaiting her return. Her boyfriend’s father has told Israeli media that his son had sought Gilboa’s parents’ blessing to propose to their daughter.
