Wendy Williams’ Niece Hires High-Powered Attorney to Fight Guardian
Wendy Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, has hired a high-powered attorney to fight her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, after the former TV host claimed she feels like she’s “in a prison.” Alex has retained Brett Nussbaum and Jason Atlas at New York law firm Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP (SSRGA) to help Wendy in her fight against her guardian.
Wendy has been in a medical facility in New York since March 2023, and has been the subject of a series of explosive interviews, in which she has claimed that her guardian has been keeping her in a “luxury prison.” Wendy’s family has launched a GoFundMe to raise funds for her legal fight, with the goal of raising $50,000.
The GoFundMe page, titled “Support Wendy Williams’ Fight for Independence,” has raised over $35,000 so far, and claims that the funds will be used to cover essential costs associated with Wendy’s case, including attorney fees, court filing fees, and expert witness fees.
Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has been accused of labeling the star “permanently incapacitated” in court documents, but Wendy has pushed back against this categorization, saying that she is not cognitively impaired and feels like she is being held captive.
