Moana 2: The Cast and Characters
Moana 2 is just around the corner, and fans are eager to see what new characters and adventures await Moana and her friends. Alongside the return of some beloved characters, the film will introduce a range of new faces to join Moana on her grand journey.
Returning Characters
Auli’i Cravalho will reprise her role as Moana, the protagonist of the original film. Moana is set to leave the island of Motunui once again, this time on a grand journey to break the curse of Nalo. Dwayne Johnson will again voice Maui, the demigod with shapeshifting powers. Rachel House will return as Tala, Moana’s wayfinding grandmother, in spirit form. Temuera Morrison will reprise his role as Tui, Moana’s father, the chief of Motunui Island.
New Cast Members
Awhimai Fraser will voice the secondary antagonist, Matangi, a mysterious and powerful goddess of the underworld. Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda will play Simea, Moana’s little sister. Rose Matafeo will take on the role of Loto, a member of Moana’s wayfinding team. David Fane will play Kele, a farmer and member of the team. Hualālai Chung will voice Moni, another member of the team.
Returning Supporting Cast
Moana’s pet rooster, Heihei, will return, voiced once again by Alan Tudyk. Nicole Scherzinger will reprise her role as Sina, Moana’s mother. Gerald Ramsey will play Tautai Vasa, one of Moana’s ancestors.

Moana 2 is directed by David G. Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller. The release date is set for November 27, 2024. The film is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios, with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures handling the distribution. The screenplay is by Dana Ledoux Miller, Jared Bush, Jason Hand, Ron Clements, and John Musker.
